Good Good Good

So I've determined...

Sometimes, you just need a break.

Ground-breaking, I know! But, if you really seriously think about it, there is so much demand on our lives & then on top of all of that WE put more demand on ourselves & soon we're buried & getting stressed & being grumpy & blah blah blah.

So, here's to not feeling guilty for taking a break when needed & continuing to stretch myself past where I'm at. That may seem contradictory, but I never want to stop growing. I have to stretch to grow & then I have to know when I really do need a break.

Life really is so good & little (or even big) bumps or stresses along the way don't make it any different, it just means that our eyes have become focused on our troubles rather than the goodness of God in our lives. It's like the old hymn says:

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Helen H. Lemmel

& of course before I end this little blurb, I wanted to say thank you for all your encouraging words! Y'all are super sweet! It still blows my mind that we have this own little community where people just want to come & be nice! hahahaha, I love it!!

Here's to being back!

learning life

Ever just have a slump...

Where nothing's bad, or wrong, or icky? Is there a such thing as "writer's block" for a blogger?! Cause I feel like that's where I am right now.

Like I said, nothing's bad... AT ALL!

My sweety bought me flowers last night, took me out for dinner, we watched a movie & just chilled. It was fabulous!

& then, here I am again, feeling like I just don't have anything to say.

The truth of it is, I think I'm just so busy & so focused on other things right now that I've reached my max pull capacity.

So, that being said, I'll just write again when it flows from me & maybe that will be tomorrow! I don't want this blog to be a burden to me (or to anyone who reads it!!) because I've loved this as an outlet & a place to share fun, fabulous, encouraging things & I want it to stay that way!

So, here's to Spring, & being busy, & sweet husbands who buy you tulips!

Laughing Out Loud

This is hilarious...

I'll be honest that it starts out a little slow, but if you give it a shot you definitely won't regret it!

& what better way to start off your Friday (almost your WEEKEND) than with laughing, right?!

So I hope you're fabulous, you're weekend is relaxing & that you laugh at this video as much as I did.

(I may or may not have been crying at my desk from laughing so hard...& yes, that's all "old" people in the crowd, what am I 50?!)

Happy Weekend!

Daddy's Girl

Tonight is one of my favs....

Daddy/Daughter date!

My dad....what can I even say?! Our dates have been a tradition for as long as I can remember. When I was younger & we didn't have much money, he'd take me on special dates to McDonalds. I would of course get a happy meal & we'd get to spend the day together. Now that I'm married, we don't get to do them as often, but we try to get together, just him & I, at least once or twice a year.

I can't tell you what it means to me. I can't tell you what he means to me.

I love him. I love him with all my heart. Thank You God for my Dad!

Singing "Oh Sweet Pea" at my wedding. I was SO surprised!! It's our song.

Isn't he the cutest in the entire world?!

Dancing at my wedding.

Gosh I really love this guy!!!

thankful

All I know...

Is that there is ALWAYS hope.

No matter what we've done, or who we've become, Jesus Christ can save, cleanse & heal!

This is just my heart crying out to my Savior, thanking Him for all He's rescued me from, helped me through & for loving me like no other.

pin collector

So I've been using coconut oil for about 2-1/2 weeks now...

& I absolutely love it!

Just as a moisturizer alone it's fantastic. Now remember, it's oil...so you don't need a lot, but even with that being said, it's not heavy nor does it stay oily feeling on your skin. & to top it all of, I definitely feel like my skin is WAY more dewy & has that ever desirable glow, but not in a icky I feel "gloppy" way! (is that even a word?!)

I have combination skin, and I can tell you, the dry sections of my face are moisturized & the oily sections are stabilized. I also feel like some of the fine lines I have are not so prominent. I'm not saying that coconut oil is getting rid of them per-say (maybe it is?!), but rather that because my skin is so moisturized my makeup sits much better on my skin.

& even more than all that, it doesn't make me breakout! Hallelujah!

So, if you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor & give it a shot.

Anyways, something new I'm excited to try...via pinterest of course...is:

(no poo = no shamPOO)

Now I'm not one of those crazy-never-use-store-bought-stuff-because-they-give-you-cancer type of people, or even someone who wants to use every au-naturel & no offense if that's you.  ;)

However, I am always up for the idea of using something non-chemical, with no additives, that's naturally derived & good for you. I mean why not if it's such an easy & inexpensive option?! So I'm going for it, as soon as I use up all my Aveda shampoo that is! (See I told you I wasn't crazy!)

So, we'll see how it goes!!
